Victim Sustained Third Degree Burns during Auto Accident
This week, news sources have confirmed that one of the victims that was involved in the deadly car accident that killed two former Cathedral Catholic High School in August has died.
On Saturday, 39-year-old John Nathan Adams was removed from life support.
In August, Adams had been driving back to San Diego from a high-altitude camping trip in Mammoth along with Natalie Nield, 17; Amanda Post, 18; Derek Thomas, 19; and Drew Delis, 22 when the group's Ford expedition suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic.
The California Highway Patrol said that Nield had been driving the vehicle, which was registered in her mother's name, while the group traveled back to California on August 9th.
Police say that the SUV went into oncoming traffic and crashed into a van from California Baptist University. The collision led to the death of 35-year-old Wendy Rice, who was a cheerleading coach.
Tanager, a witness to the accident, said that the SUV erupted into flames before hitting the van. She was able to escape the burning vehicle, but sustained third-degree burn injuries on her back.
