2 Car Crash Occurs on Interstate 805
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were called early Wednesday morning to investigate a two-car crash on Interstate 805.
Witnesses reported a brown Dodge Intrepid hitting a white compact car that had stalled near the center divider. As a result of the car accident, a passenger in the white car was partially ejected and killed on the spot. Her identity was later released by the Medical Examiner's Office; the victim was 50-year-old Aurora Contreras of San Diego.
The driver of the white vehicle was brought to Scripps Mercy Hospital with unknown injuries. As for the Dodge Intrepid, the driver and two toddlers seated in the back were taken to Rady Children's Hospital with unknown injuries.
As officers cleared the scene and investigated the car crash, traffic nearly stopped as passersby attempted to take in the scene.
