Pedestrian Accident Involves Train and Drunk Man
According to the San Diego Sheriff's department, officers were dispatched to a pedestrian accident involving a drunk man and a train. Initial reports indicate that the man was walking along the tracks by Beech Street with a buddy when a freight train hit him. The train conductor, albeit moving at a slow pace, was unable to see the man on the tracks in the dark. In fact, nobody on the crew realized that the train had hit a man as they kept on traveling through the area.
The man's friend called officers to report the accident, confirming that alcohol had been involved. Although the victim was rushed to an area hospital, doctors were unsure whether they would be able to save the victim's left leg.
