Police Respond to Fatal Drunk Driving Accident
Although officers are used to arresting drunken drivers, it is normally in the later hours of the day. So, officers with the San Diego police department were surprised to learn that a car accident occurred at 8:40 AM last week, and was caused by a drunk driver.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found that the driver of the offending vehicle was traveling down a local street when he lost control of his car. It drove over the center divider and hit another vehicle driven by a 28-year-old male. Although he was transported to the hospital shortly after the drunk driving accident, the victim was declared deceased by the Medical Examiner's Office just a few hours later.
As a result of his negligence, the drunk driver lost his own life. However, he also injured four more people, including two children under the age of 10.
