Joe Jackson Continues to Move Forward with Wrongful Death Suit
Joe Jackson, father to the famous pop star, is going forward with his wrongful death lawsuit against Dr. Conrad Murray.
At this time he is asking for unspecified damages for the death of Michael Jackson. While the doctor's lawyers attempted to get the lawsuit dismissed, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Johnson denied their efforts and will make his final decision this Wednesday.
Not only did he dismiss their attempt but the judge criticized the method in which the defense documents were drawn up. He warned them not to use that same style in the future, calling it "distracting and confusing." This isn't the first time that Joe Jackson has attempted to sue the doctor, as he already entered a lawsuit last year on June 25. The judge at that time declined to hear the case, saying only that is should be brought before the Superior Court.
The new wrongful death lawsuit blames Murray for Michael Jackson's death, saying that he was negligent in administering Propofol, a powerful anesthetic. In addition, Murray failed to tell the responding paramedics that he had given Jackson the drug.
