Progress Made in Taxi Cab Accident Case
Progress is being made in the recovery of a woman who had her leg crushed by a taxi outside a San Diego nightclub last month.
Dominique Gambale was involved in the car accident that happened on Feb. 12 outside of the Stingaree nightclub. According to Dr. Paul Girard Gambale suffered multiple broken bones and severe tissue damage to her right leg.
While she will have to undergo extensive rehabilitation and reconstructive surgery, she is expected to be moved to a rehabilitation center this week. Gambale has already had eight surgeries and will undergo another to reconstruct bones later on.
San Diego police are still looking into the accident that happened as a result of Sam Hassan Daly, 42, losing control of his cab. He originally told police that he blacked out but has modified his story to state that he might have become drowsy after taking antidepressants. As a result his cab plowed into the dense crowd standing outside of the nightclub around closing time.
