Two Bike Accidents Happen on Same Day
Two bicycle accidents, on the same day, sent two people to local hospitals in San Diego last Friday.
The first victim, 48-year-old Bryan Caraveo, was struck by a dump truck around 6:40 a.m. on Mission Gorge Road. He was sent to the hospital with broken ribs and head injuries. Luckily Caraveo was wearing a helmet when he attempted to make the left turn onto Superior Ready Mix, a concrete plant. According to Lt. Andra Brown, no charges have been filed at this time.
The second bicycle accident took place around 7:15 a.m., when a 16-year-old bicyclist ran into a pole. The teen, a ninth grader at Scripps Ranch High, suffered a severe head injury. Due to this age, San Diego police and school officials are not releasing his identity.
