Woman Hospitalized Following Auto Accident
One woman was hospitalized after a car accident in California earlier this week.
According to the California Highway Patrol reports, the woman was driving with a 37-year-old man when they were nearly involved in an accident. Police learned that the man swerved to avoid being hit by another car changing lanes when his SUV tumbled off the roadway and into a culvert. Since the woman was not wearing her seat belt at the time, she was thrown from the vehicle while it fell into the ditch.
Luckily for the driver and another passenger, both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. They sustained minor injuries that were treated by the responding ambulance crew. Traffic was slowed for nearly an hour while police and emergency personnel made way for a medical helicopter to land on the highway.
Police are still searching for the driver that caused the accident with his erratic driving. He is likely to be charged with non-contact hit-and run.
