Van Defect Blamed for Two Deaths
Two men lost their lives due to a defect in the van they were driving. Now, their families are seeking monetary compensation and more.
Seven years ago, a 48-year-old male was driving a passenger van when he felt something shake in the back of the vehicle. He tried to look at the problem but instead steered onto a median. Eyewitness reports show that he attempted to maneuver the van back onto the highway, but the van flipped instead, ejecting both men onto the roadway.
This month, six plaintiffs are suing the company responsible for manufacturing the van. They assert that the company knew about the van's defects yet did not warn the public about the possible danger. This is not the first time that this particular model has been the subject of debate, however, as it has been named in several National Highway Traffic Safety Administration personal injury advisories over the past few years.
