In Carlsbad, news sources report that a huge big rig truck accident occurred on southbound Interstate 5. The single vehicle accident made the Friday morning commute long and frustrating for many drivers, but police say the accident scene was cleaned up by 9:00 AM.
When officers asked the truck driver what happened, he said he lost control of his vehicle just before 3 AM after his tire blew out. He did not suffer any injuries during the accident, but managed to drive over the concrete center divider just south of the Tamarack exit. Police say the truck remains near the divider for several hours on Friday morning.
Crews were dispatched to the scene to remove the equipment that the truck was hauling an officer say that crews were in charge of cleaning up 20,000 pounds worth of cargo.
